Linda North
Linda's passion for fishing took her to Alaska in 2001 where she 'discovered' the beauty and abundant recreational resources of the south central region of Alaska. In 2003 she purchased the Deshka Landing Charters business because it was an opportunity to experience Alaska's premier fishing and recreation while providing a unique summer work environment for her family. With the help of her son-in-law Justin and daughter Heather, they planned and built a new 'lodge', which functions as the social center for the complex, housing the kitchen, dining area, screened porch and barbeque area and the bath facilities for their guests. The four log cabins were renovated, a fifth cabin was completed and electricity was added when power arrived at Deshka Landing in the fall of 2005.
Linda is a full time farmer and rancher in eastern Washington in the off season.
Heather and Justin Henneous
Justin and Heather, with their two small children Sam and Sierra, began their Alaskan adventure in 2003. Justin's design and carpentry expertise is showcased in the Deshka Landing Lodge facilities. Heather added her creative skills in the kitchen. Together, they bring to our clients the very best full service accommodations in the south central region of Alaska. Don't be surprised if you get a tour of the facilities from seven year old Sierra or an invitation from eight year old Sam to inspect the children's tree house.
Justin is a carpenter in Bend, Oregon in the off season.
Colton Conner - Fishing Guide
Born and raised in Alaska, Colton Conner has always had a passion for fishing. He was practically born with a fishing rod in hand as most of his days were spent on the Deshka or Willow Rivers, which are minutes away from his home. Growing up on the local rivers has provided Colton with the experiences and skills required to be an effective fishing guide. Colton started guiding at 17 when he and his older brother ran a successful guide service together.
Colton is now starting his fourth year at the Lodge. This fall Colton will begin his career as a biology teacher.
